HUNTLEY, IL – Heineman Middle School will present District 158’s first musical of the 2021-2022 theater season, THE WAIT IS OVER, with performances of Disney Moana Jr. on October 23-24 in the Performing Arts Center at Huntley High School.

Based on the book by Susan Soon He Stanton, with music/orchestrations adapted and arranged by Ian Weinberger, Moana Jr. features the beloved songs from the 2016 Disney animated film, written by Pulitzer Prize-winning composer Lin-Manuel Miranda, Opetaia Foa’i, and Mark Mancina, including “How Far I’ll Go,” “Shiny,” and “You’re Welcome.”

This heartwarming coming-of-age story follows the strong-willed Moana as she sets sail across the Pacific to save her village and discover the truth about her heritage. Moana and the legendary demigod Maui embark on an epic journey of self-discovery and camaraderie while learning to harness the power that lies within. With empowering messages of bravery and selflessness, Moana Jr. is sure to bring out the hero within each of us.
